| Description | Spring Annunciation is a piece for mixed a cappella choir based on the poem of the same name by S. K. Neumann from the collection Book of forests, waters and sides, which the composer adapted textually to the needs of melody and phrasing. The composition refers to some typical means of musical neo-folklorism, it is internally divided into several sections linked by small variations on the main theme of "secular prayer" (Hail Earth). Harmonically, the composition is conventional, with advanced chords and chromatic progressions typical of the author. The premiere took place on March 21, 2024 in the hall of the Art and Industry Museum in Brno. The piece was sung by the Brno Academic Choir with the choirmaster Pavel Šnajdr. |
