Description Reflective competence underpins professionalism in teaching. It conditions the ability of professionals to view and explain, evaluate and justify (and to some extent question) their actions, and on this basis to suggest alternative courses of action for them. This is also why reflective competence is part of the teacher professional standards, incl. the national one. In order to promote reflective competence in (future) teachers, different approaches, methods and tools are developed and applied, some of them being "content-based". This means that the teacher's and pupil's work with the curriculum plays an important role in them.
