Description | The presentation focuses on peer feedback among pre-service teachers of German as a foreign language (i.e. in the context of tertiary teacher education). The results of a qualitative content analysis of fourteen feedback interviews will be presented. The aim of the analysis was to investigate how pre-service teachers realise cognitive discourse functions when providing peer feedback that focuses on monologic oral expression. The results indicate a tendency towards superficial evaluative peer feedback focusing mainly on positive aspects of performance. This type of feedback was often supplemented by suggestions for alternatives. In some cases, descriptive feedback and specific indicators of performance evaluation were also found in the data. |
