Description This presentation explores the pronunciation challenges faced by Czech university students majoring in English as a Foreign Language (EFL), with a focus on those training to become future English teachers. Drawing on data from classroom observations, student feedback, and linguistic analyses, the talk examines common difficulties in both segmental and suprasegmental aspects of English pronunciation. The presentation highlights factors contributing to these challenges, e.g., phonological L1 interference, i.e., interference from Czech.
