| Description | In the middle of the last century, efforts to introduce the theory of the "absolute creator" of film works began to appear in professional and popular writings about filmmaking. This title, for which the French designation "auteur" (= author) was adopted, was usually used by film directors whose work was unique and innovative and in which they themselves had the primary control over the key parameters of a film work. Later, the designation was transferred in a broader sense to personalities with a greater creative scope and other film professions, which also include composers. The presented article points to this specific theory from the field of film production and names some of the most important personalities who met the "auteur" criteria with their work and creative approach. |
