Description | Educational use of games has been already known for some time and it has got its roots in several concepts of the educational history. Since the 2nd half of the 20th century new aspects of the game have been formalized and thus it provided us with new educational possibilities both at school and at leisure time activities. Let us remember the emotional aspect which has been considered as "the best teacher" - e.g. person who can help people to reveal the inside features of his or her character (teaches the self-knowledge) and teach us about the complicated world, often closed to the verbal ways of clarification and often closed to the rational ways of thinking. And the aspect of morality is of big importance too. The rules of the game explain the players how to act and at the same time - the necessity to follow the rules brings an analogy to the "real world". With the game one can often simulate situation which are quite rare in everyday life. We cannot miss the aspect of stimulation as well and, of course, there are many others. Game is to be understood in the case as "trial life". |
