Description | In order to investigate the versatility of proteom of leukemic cells undergoing terminal differentiation, we performed two-dimensional electrophoresis of proteins extracted from BM2 cells induced with phorbol ester TPA, trichostatin A and retinoic acid for various time periods and compared it with two-dimensional electrophoretogram of untreated control cells. Some of the spots of differentially expressed proteins were digested with trypsin and identified by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry as heat shock protein 70, protein-glutamine glutamyltransferase 4, prostaglandin-D-synthase, EMS1, nucleobindin 2 precursor (DNA-binding protein NEFA), actin, ARP2/3 protein complex subunit 3 and chaperonin Hsp60. Biological significance of versatility of these proteins in differentiating BM2 cells is currently investigated. |
