Description A method of parameter identification for Gause-type predator-prey model is proposed. Subsequently, the question whether the method enables to distinguish various types of the model from data is examined on simulated data. The result is that data do not allow to find subtilities of the model (types of trophic function and prey growth rate) but the proposed method is reliable enough for investigation of the system equilibrium stability.
