Description The paper discusses the concept of the autonomous learning in FLT with respect to the specific roles of the teacher and the pupil. In addition to a brief description of the roles of these two subjects of the teaching process, the main focus is on the presentation of results of a pilot empirical research that show how teachers and pupils reflect on such aspects that are crucial for the encouragement of autonomous learning in FLT.
