Description Identification of individual myeloma-specific T cell clones by molecular analysis of the T cell receptor beta (TCRB) is the most sensitive method for of anti-tumor immune response monitoring in multiple myeloma so far. The method (so-called clonotypic assay) is based on the fact, that the TCRB sequence is unique for every T lymphocyte clone and thus serve as ideal characteristic of the individual clone. On a representative sample was shown that the immune response against tumor antigen was oligoclonal, i. e. only few immunodominant clones were activated. This correspond with the assumption of existence of only few antigens on myeloma cell surface. The detail study of anti-tumor immune response based on exact myeloma-specific T lymphocytes idenfication and potentially in vivo monitoring can be used especially in adoptive immunotherapy as a part of multiple myeloma treatment.
