Description Anxiety disorders represent one of the most common mental disorders we may encounter. According to a study conducted in the USA (Kessler et al, In Praško, 2005), well-nigh half of the population suffers from some mental disease during their life. Drug addictions (26,6 %), anxiety disorders (24,9 %) and affective disorders (19,3 %) appear the most commonly. Especially children, whose psyche is only being formed, are particularly susceptible towards the negative external impacts. School represents an absolute change of every-day regime; the main activity of the day is altered, the attention is required, etc. In company with an unsuitable approach of the teacher or parents, the school environment may often lead to the origin and development of anxiety feelings. Within the pilot study, which is a part of the author s dissertation, a research has been conducted in school age children. The paper presents the results of the research together with a graphic processing and commentary.
