Description Dendritic cells as antigen-presenting cells are able to present tumour antigen and induce immune respons of the organism against the tumour. They are though sufficient source for cancer vaccines production. Acoording to most recent knowledge, most suitable type for clinical application are dendritic cells producing interleukin 12 (IL-12) in high levels and low levels of IL-10. IL-12 supports anti-tumour immune response, whereas IL-10 causes tolerance of the immune system. Dendritic cells are during the cultivation loaded with tumour-antigen and administered to the patient during their maturation. This new access in vaccination enables stimulation of the immune reaction in vivo.
