| Description | We were examinating differences between true and deceptive communication in this experiment. We made 28 respondents to talk with communication partner through Windows Live Messenger. After it they had to chat by messenger with another communication partner and they were told to lie. We have examined differences between the first (true) and the second (deceptive) communication by means of linguistic analysis. We found higher number of numerals and words in the genitive case, higher average message length and higher ratio (nouns + verbs)/(adjectives + adverbs) in true communication. Higher number of first degree words, adverbs, sentences and question marks was found in deceptive communication. Finally, we made analysis separately for men and women. Men in comparison with women were more changing characteristics of language when lying (for example differences between truth and lie in number of proverbs, numbers or words in genitive case were found only for men). Women in comparison with men were changing strategy of their communication: they were more often asking and writing shorter messages when lying |
