Description | The goal of the presentation was to introduce the theoretical and methodological foundations for analyzing teaching culture and intercultural communicative competence (ICC) in foreign language teaching. The Model of Intercultural Communicative Competence in FLT was developed for the purposes of this type of a research, that formed a basis for the development of a system of categories for analyzing teaching culture and ICC. The system of categories comprises ten categories that are further divided based on the theoretical recommendations for teaching ICC into categories reflecting focus on Big-C Culture or small-c culture, culture-general or culture-specific topics and cognitive, affective or behavioral level of ICC development. |
