Description One of the consequences of an independent Czechoslovak state formation was the effort of Czechs and Slovaks living outside the old country to return to the old country. In parallel with the return of some expatriates from abroad in the early 20th of the 20th century the reverse process began - emigration caused by the postwar economic crisis that has gripped the eastern part of Czechoslovakia in particular - Slovak and Carpatho-Russian.
