Description The conference presentation focuses on three areas that were recently introduced to the first year practical language classes at the department of English language and literature, namely newly integrated study skills supported by student language portfolios and an online reflective journal. The presentation covers the most important study skills areas and informs about the course outcomes, i.e. improvements of students performance. It also deals with two tools that are currently used and researched in the field of pre-service teacher education as powerful tools of self-regulated learning– language portfolios and reflective journals.
