Description | This paper describes an experiment that was organized in June 2010. According to the results that were measured by an interactive web-application MUTEP (MUltivariate TEsting Programme), we are able to evaluate the suitability of suggested background maps (colour and monochrome topographic maps and orthophotomap). During this specific test, users were supposed to find the required cartographic symbols on different background maps. Time and accuracy of the solution in particular tasks were stored to database. Participants were simultaneously explored with psychological performance tests and their cognitive features were measured. These features can be influential in the effectiveness of map reading process. Finally, results of the test were compared with our hypotheses that were set in the beginning of the experiment. |
