Within the project, a new course Didactics of multilingualism will be created which will supplement the curriculum of master's degree program of teacher training of German language. The need for implementing this course is based on the requirements for the development of multilingualism which is declared by the European concept of language learning, and also adopted the concept of language education in the Czech Republic. In educational practice, this means that pupils during their compulsory education should acquire at least two foreign languages. The course will reflect not only the expected outcomes of the Framework educational programme, but also the latest trends in teacher training of future teachers of foreign languages. Students will acquire basic theoretical knowledge of the concept of multilingualism and learn about the teaching methods that support the achievement of synergies in teaching foreign languages, networking of foreign language acquisition in their organizational sequence of L2 (first foreign language) - L3 (second foreign language) . The main attention in the present project will be paid to teaching German as L3 after English as L2.
