The program "Integrated Thematic Instruction - Biology for Life and Health" is already experimentally realized in a newly created specialized working environment, as a working centre of education for sustainable, where students and teachers are enabled to work together in order to acquire new knowledge, not only through the use of multimedia, internet and libraries, but also through active confrontation with natural reality - in the biotopical garden. In Slovenia, Dr. Jelka Strgar and col. is the person in charge for didactic preparation innovations at the University of Ljubljana. The essence of the joint program is the research concerning the education for sustainable development in Czech Republic and Slovenia, as a preparation for both countries EU membership.

Results

The article presents research conclusions about the implementation of the Learning by doing and Kknowledge base of teaching into the biology course of students trachet. The programe Biology for Life and Health has been launched at the biological department of the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. The essence of the joint programe is the research concerning the education for sustainable development and Health in Czech Republic as a preparation for both countries EU membership. It is proving, that professionality of a teacher for a basic school must be based on range of competences, especially on the skill of reflection, critical thinking and Action research..
Results of the test from the beginning of studies (the beginning of the bachelors programmes) have been getting compared as the pre-concepts of students of secondary schools interdisciplinary and since 2006 at the international level, too. A special questionnaire has been used as a control instrument for observing the changes. The mentioned results have been compared with results from the beginning of the fourth year of studies (the beginning of the masters programmes), when the students are meant to repeat the test. The questionnaire should serve as an autoregulation test simultaneously. It is used as an instrument for the training of active meaningful teaching of respondents at the beginning of university studies and also for self-reflection in the didactics of their discipline, as the verifying test of the absolute performance. Lectors in the project Biology for life and health have been using the results and the conclusions for preparation of flexible-open conception of teaching in the action research, as well.
Model of experiential learning in programe Biology for Life and Health, group seminar theses are based on the principle of learning with mistake, i.e. self-improvement with a help of group discussion and audio-visual record analysis with a specialist.
