The project is focused on opporutnities of usage and application of GIS in archeological research of Faculty of education MU at an important stronghold of Great Moravian period in Znojmo-Hradiště
Results
Our project focused on redrawing of plans from archeological excavations in Znojmo – Hradiště into computer since season 1986 to 1995 and since 2004 to 2009. Redrawing was realized in ArcGIS 9.3. Plans were consequently connected to databases of artifacts in order to make possible to examine wider spatial relationships between archeological objects and graves with respect to material culture that was found in them. The whole digitalization procedure is described in Diploma thesis of J. Kováčik. Digital plans have become fundamental for excavation records that are to be committed to Archeological institution of Academy of sciences of the Czech republic. Databases and plans makes presumptions for some scientific articles dealing with questions connected with Znojmo – Hradiště.
