| Description | The present book focuses on the development of intercultural communication competence in Russian language teaching and learning at Czech lower secondary schools, and presents the results of research into the learners' verbal interaction skills in the Russian language subject, with an emphasis on expressions of politeness in Russian-language communication. Learners' opinions on politeness in common communication situations and teachers' opinions on teaching this area are presented. The qualitative research study uses the methods of role playing, group and individual interviews. Data analysis uses ethnographic discourse analysis and grounded theory. The book also aims to contribute to discussions on research into the results of foreign language teaching in lower secondary schools. |
