Description Analytical ultracentrifugation is a powerful technique for characterization of macromolecules in solution with wide applications in biomolecular research. This method can be used to examine purity of the sample, detect conformation changes, analyze associating systems or determine molecular weights of macromolecules. The contribution is focused on application of sedimentation velocity experiments in the study of proteins and provides few examples of usefulness of the method.
