The student chooses exclusively from the list of universities (Erasmus exchanges) with which the Faculty of Education MU has an Erasmus agreement. The student chooses the appropriate university for the foreign placement especially with focus on the field of study they are studying at the Faculty of Education MU.
General information
The aim of the programme is to promote mutual relations and cooperation between higher education institutions within the European area, to increase the level of transparency and compatibility of higher education qualifications in Europe, to improve language teaching, to inform about the education systems in different countries and to give education a European dimension.
The ERASMUS ID code of Masaryk University is CZ BRNO05.
Erasmus+ Study Placements
Study placements can only take place in the following Programme Countries:
- EU member states: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom
- EEA countries: Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein
- Turkey, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
The student also chooses only from the list of universities (Erasmus Exchange) with which the Faculty of Education MU has an Erasmus agreement. The student chooses the appropriate university for the foreign placement especially with respect to their field of study at the Faculty of Education. If you are interested in a foreign university that is not primarily intended for your field of study (see the table in the column Field of Study at PdF MU), contact the relevant coordinator of the contract, who will tell you whether and under what conditions the mobility is an option.
The student is nominated for the study placement by the department on the basis of a selection procedure. The selection criteria are set by each department individually. The selection procedure is organized by the authorized person at the department (Erasmus coordinator).
Application for the selection procedure
A student can complete a study placement or an traineeship abroad for a maximum of 12 months per study cycle (bachelor's, master's, doctoral). Thus, they can complete, for example, 6 months of study placement and 6 months of traineeship, or, for example, a full 12 months of study placement, but there is always a limit of 12 months in one study cycle. While at study placement or traineeship, students studying in English language are still subject to tuition fee obligation.
Conditions of participation
- The study placement is carried out only on the basis of valid inter-institutional agreements concluded between the Faculty of Education MU and the foreign institution. The length of the study placement is anywhere between the minimum of 3 months and 12 months at the most.
- The student is selected in a duly announced selection procedure and must be enrolled in at least the second year of bachelor's or master’s studies in the full-time or combined form of study at the time of departure.
- The student is enrolled in an accredited bachelor's, master's or doctoral study program at a university involved in the Erasmus+ program.
- Throughout the stay, the student must be duly enrolled in studies at the faculty/department through which the stay is carried out, and must not terminate or interrupt the study!
- For successful completion of the placement, the student must obtain minimum of 20 ECTS credits per semester of study at the host institution.
- Each applicant must meet the Qualification Conditions of the Erasmus+ Programme.
Scholarship
- The student will receive a scholarship for the Erasmus+ study placement from CZS.
- The amount of the scholarship varies for individual countries and duration.
- The scholarship serves only to partially cover the costs – the student's financial participation is assumed.
- The payment of the scholarship is provided by the MU Centre for International Cooperation on the basis of a signed financial agreement. The scholarship will be transferred to the student's bank account entered in IS MUNI according in agreed installments. Funds are paid to bank accounts held in CZK at any bank in the Czech Republic or in euros at Komerční banka.
- It is possible to obtain additional support from the scholarship programme of the Faculty of Education MU - it is called 3A Support for student mobility under the Erasmus+ programme.

* The number of months is calculated according to the formula used for Erasmus stays: If the duration of the stay of full months is not met, the grant for the last month is calculated according to the number of days of the last month spent abroad (linked to the starting day of the 1st month of the stay): 1 to 7 days: zero financial support, 8 to 20 days: 1/2 of the financial support per month and 21 to 30 days: The entire financial support for a month.

Study at the Faculty of Education at the time of study placement/traineeship
According to the Dean's Directive No. 4/2015 On the Individual Study Plan of Students of the Faculty of Education when Going Abroad, each student going on a study placement is granted an Individual Study Plan (ISP). The ISP is automatically granted to the student after they fulfil the obligation to register the study placement in the MU Information System (IS MU) before departure. A student who has been granted an ISP has the right to negotiate their non-participation in lectures with otherwise compulsory attendance with the teachers of compulsory and selective courses.
The Erasmus+ mobility programme requires MU students to submit an application for recognition of courses/credits from a foreign placement, see Article 9, paragraph 1. Rector's Directive No. 2/2024 Rules for the Recognition of the Results of Study and Work Placements of Students of Masaryk University.
